Cut, Copy and Paste

Use the following steps to cut or copy and paste in a particular list of the Translate Table editor.

Step 1

The first step is to highlight the word or words to be copied:

Highlighting is accomplished by holding down the left-mouse button and dragging the pointer over the desired cells.

Step 2

The second step is either to press the key sequence Ctrl+C or select Copy from the Edit menu at the top of the translate table editor:

Step 3

The third step is to select the cell where you would like the copied data to be placed:

The cell selected should be able to accommodate the data that has been copied i.e. if you attempted to copy two columns of data from a synonym list into a stop list an error would result.

Step 4

The fourth step is either to press the key sequence Ctrl+V or select Paste from the Edit menu at the top of the translate table editor:

The copied data is then inserted into the list:

In this case the data has been inserted. You can overwrite cells by highlighting the same number of rows and columns that are copied instead of just a single cell.
