Editing the Definitions Section

The Definitions section of the load definition file is used to define the data fields and the scanned document sources.

Use the DEFINITIONS task bar along the left side of the load definition file editor to activate the DATA FIELDS page or the SCANNED DOCUMENT SOURCES page.

Data Fields

When creating a load definition file the first task that needs to be done is to define the data fields. Packages and indexes are both dependant on the existence of data fields. The PACKAGES tasks will not be enabled in the Load Definition File editor until at least one data field is defined.

Select Data Fields from the DEFINITIONS task bar to activate the DATA FIELDS page to edit the data fields:

The DATA FIELDS task bar along the right side of the DATA FIELDS page allows you to perform the following tasks:

Add a Data Field.

Delete a Data Field.

Edit a Data Field.

Scanned Document Sources

The SCANNED DOCUMENT SOURCES page allows you to edit machine access definitions. A machine access definition is required if a document scanning section will be used to map the data for the search engine load.

Select Document Sources from the DEFINITIONS task bar to activate the SCANNED DOCUMENT SOURCES page to edit the scanned document sources:
